Research areas
- The Childhood Allergy and Immunology Research group is focused on allergic diseases affecting children and their prevention.
- Asthma Genetics includes studies into acute asthma attacks in children and the evolution of the human immune system.
- The Aerosols Research Group's major research aims include the evaluation of the efficacy of therapeutic aerosols and exposure to environmental aerosols in paediatric respiratory disease.
- Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology includes major research into:
- Long-term neurohormonal regulation (via androgens and stress hormones) of brain development and behaviour
- Autism
- Acute regulation of cognitive capacity in children and adolescents with glucose
- Long-term neurodevelopmental consequences of dietary supplementation
- Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and EEG
