  • Development of monocyte defences in the preterm infant;
  • Studying the effects of chorioamnionitis on immune function and development;
  • Measuring maturation of immunity in preterm children;
  • Developing host-defence peptides as new therapies for sepsis;
  • Assessing the long-term impact of preterm birth on infections and inflammatory diseases;
  • Exploring the immunomodulatory and antimicrobial properties of breast milk
