  • Oral health of pre-school refugee children

Research Overview:

Established prevalence of dental caries in refugee pre-school children, identified lack of efficacy of current referral pathway, identified associated factors, established new screening by paediatric registrars at Refugee Health Clinic, establishing new referral pathway on ongoing funding.

Community focus groups and interviews have documented the refugee community’s narratives on early childhood caries and resettlement issues for good oral health. Community reference group is currently considering recommendations.
